History: Dave and Debbie moved to Weymouth in 2006 to run the Molyneux Guesthouse. They have 2 children. Dave had previously been in Financial Services for 16 years having been a Business Development Manager for a Building Society along with Staff Union Chair and Social Club Chair. Dave was a keen sportsman enjoying watching and participating in most, leading Portland Town  FC to County Cup victoryin 2013, also playing cricket for Portland, coaching swimming classes and sitting on the Board at St John’s Church in Weymouth. Dave was tireless and constantly striving to bring improvements to Weymouth and to better the lot of accommodation providers and all small businesses in the area.

Since he has gone, we have all missed Dave tremendously and we are finding it hard to cope with all the work that Dave took in his stride. Most of all, we miss his cheery smile and his good company – always ready to help anyone with any problem, always generous, always kind.

History:  Born in Kent, I have progressed from Hospital Housekeeping, Waitress Silver Service and running my own cleaning business to managing a catering business for 10 years. It seemed a natural progression to move to Weymouth to run my own guest house.  I have had my Guest house for 13 years and have enjoyed being involved on the  WHGLA Committee for nearly 11 years now.  and  now feel a well established member of my community. I consider myself  friendly, out-going and a good organiser, hence my position as Chair and Secretary. Please feel free to contact me about anything you think I might be able to help you with!

Mark @ Cumberland – Chair Designate

Contact Details: Cumberland Hotel, 95 The Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 7BA
Phone: 01305 830357

History: Mark Wall – International ‘Man of Mystery’. Where he came from – it’s a mystery. What he does and where he goes – it’s a mystery.
Why Claire puts up with him – it’s a mystery!
With a background in quality management for an International music media manufacturer, Mark has managed to master some quality DIY management skills and has turned round the Cumberland in two short years and has renewed just about everything, from top to bottom – and Claire has been there to add the ‘quality bit’. Interests include tenpin bowling, biscuits, controlling two grown-up teenagers and afternoon naps. So that is ‘Mark – Man of Mystery’ (and an endless supply of biscuits).

History: Moved to Weymouth in January 2010 to run Seascape Guest house with my wife Kathy. Prior to this I was a textile engineer in carpets for 40 years in Kidderminster. I also worked for 18 months constructing looms in Lagos, Nigeria. I have also been a first aider and I am a qualified City and Guilds electrician. Hobbies include old cars and history – and enjoying a nice pint of real ale on occasions .

History: We moved to Weymouth at 6:30pm on 14th December 2007 (It would have been 13th except for the traffic jam through Upwey). Denise has a background in travel, also with administrator and supervisor experience over many years. I was a materials scientist, chemist, engineer, colour scientist, stealth technologist, also having corporate-level responsibility for some time in health, safety, environment and EU legislation compliance. As Denise says – full of useless information! We have run Aaran House since 2007 and seen (off) many challenges in Weymouth

Contact Details: The Gresham, 120 The Esplanade, Weymouth  DT4 7EW
Phone: 01305 785897
eMail: info@greshamhotel-weymouth.co.uk;
History: We took over as proprietors of The Gresham in June 2015 and this is our first time of running a bed and breakfast so we’ve had a lot to learn.  We met via the internet in 2009, went on a date and the rest is as they say is history! Karen decided it would be a good idea to propose so at leap year in 2012, she popped the question in the doughnut aisle of our local Asda store in front of the local press – a video of the occasion exists and we will try to add the link for those who may appreciate the comedy value!  In our previous lives Karen worked in the NHS and Chris was an HGV driver and we have a variety of skills and experience that fit very well with running a small hotel/B&B. We also have a good sense of humour and both of us talk far too much!

Margaret (Ann) took over the Seacrest in March 2007 with her friends Liz and Pam. Sadly, both her friends passed away in later years but Ann still soldiers on and hopes to continue to make improvements on what is already  a fine guest house in an enviable location in Weymouth. Originally from Nottingham, Ann has taken to Weymouth and is now a great friend, a good neighbour and a hard-working owner, always ready to help anyone, any time.
